Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a beloved British children's book by Lewis Carroll, published in 18651. The story follows Alice, a young girl who falls asleep in a meadow and dreams that she follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole. She has many wondrous, often bizarre adventures with thoroughly illogical and very strange creatures, often changing size unexpectedly12. The book is set in the English countryside and is written in the third person past tense, although much of the story is told through Alice’s internal monologue.
The book is brilliant for children, but with enough hilarity and joy for life in it to please adults too.
